New sections to be formed by the names of Padma, Meghna

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday proposed the establishment of two sections after the names "Padma" and Faridpur and surrounding districts and "Meghna" and Cumilla and neighboring districts.

Responding to the demands of Awami League MP AKM Bahauddin for the Cumilla wing, he said, "I have decided to build two new sections after two rivers - one will be called Padma and the other Meghna."

The Prime Minister was opening a newly constructed office of the Baban Awami League in Cumilla City almost from his official residence in Ganobhaban.

LGRD Minister Tazul Islam, AL Planning Secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon and local Awami League Parliament AKM Bahauddin and other local AL leaders joined the project from the new office building.
